A LITTLE HISTORY ...

Parkside Towbars started as a family business in 1972. The business originally operated in a small workshop making towbars to order and fitting to vehicles. Parkside now employs 45 staff occupying a 3500 square metre premises. During it’s time of growth, Parkside Towbars gained a reputation for being very customer focused and became Western Australia's leading brand for towing and front protection equipment.

In 1988, Parkside designed and commissioned a towbar load test facilty to ensure all towing products comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADR62).

An air bag test facility was commissioned under the guidance of one of Australia's leading Automotive Safety Engineer's in 1998. This facility ensures that front products comply with Australian Design Rule 69 and will not inadvertently effect the triggering of airbags during a collision.

After a brief change of ownership in September 2006, Parkside Towbars became a wholly owned subsidiary of the TriMas Corporation early 2008. The backing of the TriMas group provides Parkside with access to an increased level of expertise in the motor vehicle accessory business.

The products are sold direct to the public and nationwide through more than 300 re-sellers. These products are added to regularly recently we have added driving lights, bike and cycle racks as well as roof racks for cars and trucks.
